Tara Woolnough joined the Department of Academic Research and Publications (DARP) in 2008. Since then she has project-managed the Rasa'il Ikhwan al-Safa' (Epistles of the Brethren of Purity) series, published by the Institute with Oxford University Press; the Ikhwan's splendidly arcane treatment of science, philosophy and theology is a source of continued fascination and inspiration. She also manages the accessible World of Islam series and co-ordinates DARP's other publications.
Previously, she worked in trade publishing. She holds a BA in Classics from Durham University (where she also learnt some Arabic and Biblical Hebrew), and an MA in Literature, Religion & Philosophy from the University of Sussex. She is currently attempting to teach herself Tibetan.
