The Institute of Ismaili Studies

Printed Materials

The Institute maintains a general collection of printed materials predominantly in the field of Islamic studies. The development of this collection has been planned principally on the basis of need, reflecting the on-going academic programmes and research activities of the Institute; it also reflects the library’s aim to focus increasingly on Shia materials.

Besides this core collection in Islamic studies, the Library has a specialised holding of Ismaili printed materials comprising nearly 1,000 volumes of texts and monographs, over 700 articles and offprints, as well as a small collection of Ismaili journals.

A special collection of rare books and documents is also being developed.

In addition to the printed materials, the Library also subscribes to a number of electronic resources.
