Alcorani Textus Universus

The main part of this book, published in 1698, consists of the entire vocalised Arabic text of the Holy Qur’aninfo-icon with a Latin translation and notes by the orientalist Ludovico Marracci, who is considered the greatest Italian Arabist of the seventeenth century. Aside from the magnificent printing, the chief importance of this Paduan edition is that Marracci, who worked for 40 years on this opus, prepared it with extensive and unprecedented recourse to Muslim commentators such as al-Baydawi, al-Bukhari, Abu al-Fida, al-Suyuti, al-Zamakhshari and several others.
