End Designs and Scribal Notes

Ms KH78, folio 53a

Copied in Samvat 1919/1862 CE.

This manuscript illustrates the tendency of some copyists to include a design to indicate the end of the text. The scribal note is also interesting: the scribe states that he considers himself as made of dust, and offers a prayer for Allah’s forgiveness. The name of the owner of the manuscript is given as the Padamsi Pujani family of India.
