This manuscript offers good illustration of Khojkiinfo-icon copyists’ use of the punctuation mark ‘ : ’ to distinguish between different words (see right for an example).


From Punjab and copied on dark brown European woven paper, its watermarks read ‘Bally Paper Mills co: Ltd.’. The manuscript is 306 pages long, with 16-18 lines of text per page, and contains a long ginan entitled Satveni Moti, attributed to Sayyidinfo-icon Nurinfo-icon Muhammad Shah (d. 1533 CE). This particular page describes the virtues of the Prophet’s daughter, Fatima.
