Tara Woolnough

Tara Woolnough was appointed as the Head of Publications and Operations in the Department of Academic Research and Publications (DARP) in February 2020. She heads the editorial team and is responsible for all aspects of DARP’s publications, while also working closely with Professor Zayn Kassam on the efficient operational running of DARP. Tara joined the IIS in 2008, and started working on the Epistles of the Brethren of Purity project, and since 2011 she has co-ordinated DARP’s publications.

Prior to joining the IIS, Tara worked in trade publishing. She holds a BA in Classics from Durham University (where she took elective courses in Arabic and Biblical Hebrew) and an MA in Literature, Religion and Philosophy from the University of Sussex; she is also an Advanced Professional Member of the Society for Editors and Proofreaders and volunteers as a school governor.
