The Institute of Ismaili Studies currently offers two graduate programmes which attract students from world-wide Ismaili communities: the Graduate Programme in Islamic Studies and Humanities (GPISH) and the Secondary Teacher Education Programme (STEP). The IIS also offers a Doctoral Scholarship Programme and other preparatory programmes for current and prospective students in different parts of the world.

As a provider of higher education, the IIS is monitored by the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA), receiving its first visit in 2012. Following annual monitoring visits in 2013 and 2017 the IIS received two commendable outcomes. It submitted an annual return to the QAA in March 2018 demonstrating how it continues to maintain academic standards and enhance the quality of information provided about student learning opportunities. The Institute of Ismaili Studies is registered with Office for Students (OfS), the independent regulator of higher education in England.
