In honour of the late Prince Karim Aga KhanA title granted by the Shah of Persia to the then Ismaili Imam in 1818 and inherited by each of his successors to the Imamate. IV, host Marco Werman speaks with Daryoush Mohammad Poor, an associate professor at The Institute for Ismaili Studies in the UK, about his life and legacy. Prince Karim Aga Khan IV was the spiritual leader (imamIn general usage, a leader of prayers or religious leader. The Shi’i restrict the term to their spiritual leaders descended from ʿAlī b. Abī Ṭālib and the Prophet’s daughter, Fatima.) of the Ismaili Muslim community from 11 July 1957 to 4 February 2025, as well as the founder of The Institute of Ismaili Studies.
