Reading Guides and Lists

This section presents recommended books for reading related to Islam and Muslim civilisations, especially those that would require little or no prior academic training or knowledge of languages of the Muslim world on the readers’ part.

The lists cover seminal works on each subject area but are not comprehensive in the scope of literature available on the subjects. We aim to refresh these lists at regular intervals. The lists are also recommended as a preliminary resource for self-motivated readers who may wish to formally pursue further studies in Islam or the related fields.
