The Department of Curriculum Studies is pleased to launch a three-minute promotional video to raise awareness and promote the IIS Digital Curriculum (IISDC) e-book platform.
The IISDC platform aims to make the Ta‘lim materials published by the IIS available as e-books. This includes pre-school materials, primary sets, and Secondary modules.
The curriculum presents a graded programme of instruction which examines Islam as both faith and civilisation, historically and today. Its overall aim is to educate young Ismailis in the faith, ethics, history and cultures of Muslim societies, and the Ismaili Muslim community in particular.
The platform adopts a multilingual approach, aiming to make the e-books available in eleven languages on a phased basis. The user interface is available in English, French, Portuguese, and Gujarati, with an additional six languages to be released soon. It is hoped that IISDC will help disseminate the curriculum material widely and more effectively to the global Ismaili communities.
The IISDC platform benefits from multiple navigation features, annotation tools, and search facilities within and across e-books. Apps for Android and iOS as well as Windows and Mac OS are currently under development and will allow the e-books to be downloaded onto the user’s personal devices for offline reading. A user guide has been produced to assist the users to use the platform. A video user guide is currently under development.
In the coming years, it is planned to increase the technical sophistication of the digital platform to make the educational process even more engaging and fulfilling for students, teachers, parents, and other members of the Ismaili community.
Please check with your local ITREB if the IISDC platform is available in your jurisdiction.
