Naureen is a Cataloguer and Adlib Officer in the Ismaili Special Collections Unit (ISCU). Along with collections care, her work focuses on managing the Collections Management System for ISCU and cataloguing the KhojkiA script historically developed among the Khojas of the Indian subcontinent to record their literature. and Gujarati material at the IIS.
Naureen is a 2013 graduate of GPISH (Graduate Programme in Islamic Studies and Humanities) with a Master of Arts in Gender Studies from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS). Prior to this, she pursued a BSc (Hons) degree in Social Sciences with a concentration in Anthropology from Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS). Her research projects include ‘An analysis of Jamatkhanas as gendered transnational spaces for Ugandan Ismaili women’ as well as ‘Variations in Gender Roles amongst Indian migrant women in the United Kingdom’. She has also worked as a co-ordinator at a female residential college at LUMS, as well as a research assistant at the Aga KhanA title granted by the Shah of Persia to the then Ismaili Imam in 1818 and inherited by each of his successors to the Imamate.
