Central Asian Studies

Central Asian Studies Unit (CASU) is engaged in research and documentation of the history and intellectual traditions of the Ismailis of Central Asia within the broader Islamic heritage of Central Asia. It also publishes relevant books, including monographs, conference proceedings, critical editions as well as the translation of IIS publications into Russian and Central Asian languages.

Our publications

The Institute of Ismaili Studies publishes works by its own scholars as well as from the academic community outside the Institute. The promotion of modern scholarship on the Ismailis and their intellectual and cultural heritage is an important part of the Institute’s mandate.
