The fellowship is awarded once every five years to an internationally renowned scholar working in the field of Classical Arabic Literature

The Annemarie Schimmel Fellowship is awarded every three years to a scholar working in the fields of interest of the late Professor Schimmel

The IIS awards a small number of Visiting Research Fellowships. The recipients engage in fields of research which are of interest to the Institute.

The IIS awards these scholarships each year to suitable candidates who are interested in pursuing research at PhD level on a topic related to any of the Institute’s core research areas.

This is awarded once every four years for a four-year period to a graduate student pursuing research in the field of Islamic Studies.

The IIS welcomes applications for its Dissertation Writing Scholarship from graduate students in the field of Islamic Studies who are researching an Ismaili topic.
