Alykhan Kassam is a chartered accountant by profession. He is currently the CEO of Crimson Hotels, which owns and operates a group of hotels in the UK, Portugal and Dubai.
His lead responsibilities within the group include all aspects of acquisitions, financing and development, and the strategic growth of the company. Mr Kassam is actively engaged within the Ismaili community and has held a number of senior roles within institutions.
He has been chairman of the Grants and Review Board (GRB) for UK Ismaili institutions since 2015, where he is mandated to ensure compliance with proper standards of financial discipline, accountability and cost management effectiveness. Prior to this, he was a member of the GRB from 2012 to 2015. Mr Kassam served on the Aga Khan Foundation UK National Committee from 2006 to 2017 and was chairman of its finance sub-committee during this period.
He was Honorary Secretary of the Ismaili Centre London Management Board from 2006 to 2012, where he was responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the Ismaili Centre. Mr Kassam has been involved in a number of community projects, including the development of the West London Jamatkhana, and was a member of the National Co-ordinating Committee (UK) for His Highness the Aga Khan’s Diamond Jubilee.
Mr Kassam is based in London, where he was born, and holds an Honours degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of Kent.
