Born in Antigua and raised in North America, Selina received her BA from Emory University before entering the IIS's Graduate Programme in Islamic Studies and Humanities in 1994.
In 1997, she completed an MA in Islamic Societies and Cultures at the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London. After working for FOCUS Humanitarian Assistance USA for two years, Selina moved back to London in 2001 and joined the IIS as Resource Development Officer.
She worked as coordinator of the Alumni Relations Unit for a few years before joining the Department of Community Relations as Education Coordinator in September 2007. She was responsible for the design and implementation of the intellectual content of education programmes currently undertaken by the department and the continued professionalisation of Jamati educators. Currently, Selina is Executive Officer and Board Secretary in the Director’s Office. In this role, she provides support to the Director and governors of the IIS.
