Dr Elnazarov supervises research projects and dissertations of STEP and GPISH students. He lectures in various modules and seminars on the following subjects:
- Ismailis of Central Asia in Modern Times
- Muslims of Central Asia
- Devotional literature of the Central Asian Ismailis
- Research tools and the use of primary and secondary sources in research
