Areas of Focus:  

Dr al-Khoee’s research interests primarily concern Early Arabic Historiography, Islam in Late Antiquity, the political history of the early Caliphates, the evolution of models of authority in Shiʿi doctrine, and Fatimid History and Historiography.  

Current Research and Forthcoming Projects:  

Dr al-Khoee is currently in the process of preparing monographs and journal publications on: 

• Public Speech and political mechanisms in the early Muslim amṣār (1st-3rd/7th-9th centuries) [monograph] 
• The history of divination and soothsaying [kihāna] in 1st/7th century Arabia [journal article] 
• The Kitāb al-majālis wa’l-musayarāt of Qāḍī Abū Ḥanīfa al-Nuʿmān (d. 363/973) [journal article]
