Area of Focus
Dr Omar Alí-de-Unzaga's areas of focus are philosophy, mainly of the 4th/10th century, Ismaili thought and exegesis of the Qur'an (both in tafsir and elsewhere).
His specialisation is the Epistles of the Pure Brethren (Rasa'il Ikhwan al-Safa'), more particularly on their use and interpretation of the Qur'an.
Current Research
He is currently working on the introduction and commentary to his critical edition and translation of Epistle 9 'On Ethics' of the Ikhwan al-Safaʾ.
He is also initiating a database project to document Qur'anic citations in works by Ismaili authors.
